Founded in 1990 by longtime San Diego Tennis Professional Ed Collins, CASF supports San Diego youth arts and sports organizations while providing scholarships for deserving individuals.
It’s through lifelong activities a person gains self-confidence, independence and curiosity — attributes that help achieve success in other areas as well.
Partnering with teachers, coaches and school administrators, we identify young people who are eager to achieve but in need of financial assistance to purchase basic things like sports equipment, musical instruments and art supplies.
Scholarship recipients are required to participate in CASF’s Play It Forward program, whereby the student earns his/her art or sports item by (1) doing four hours of community service, and (2) writing a summary of his volunteer experience.
